At the Lyttelton Police Court tomorrow morning, proceedings will be taken against the management committee of the Lyttelton Friendly Societies (Mr.J. T. llricc and eight others), who will be charged that not being registered chemists they kept a place of business for the sale and dispensing of medicines in Lyttelton without having a registered chemist in charge. There are two informations covering periods each of three weeks, and a week apart. The case is being brought by Mr. Chas. W. Ncilson, a Wellington solicitor, on behalf of the Pharmacy Board of New Zealand. Superintendent E. Smith this morning forwarded to the chairman of the stall' and plant committee of the Christchurch Fire .Brigade his resignation of the position of superintendent of the .brigade. His resignation takes effect at the end of the present year, and will be dealt with at the next meeting of the Fire Board.
