PETROLEUM.
The favorable indications at No. 2 bore at Moturoa continue. Yesterday another of the 2000-gallon tanks was moved across to the bore from the "Birthday." There will be no work today on account of the annual boiler inspection. There is an idea abroad that things arc looking "very sweet" at one of t lie Carriugton road bores, but no details are divulged. Mr. Cochrane, who is to report on the Mokau district lor the lnglewood Oil and Prospecting Company, was in New Plymouth yesterday, and leaves for Mokau to-day. A Taranaki man who has lieen con-' nectcd with the oil boring locally right from its inception, is highly pleased at the present showing at -Moturoa.
