The Southern Steamship Co., the owners of tiie itakiura, wore charged with, having failed to transmit to the Marine j Superintendent the agreement with I lie, crew. The evidence showed that the. articles had not been sent to the Superintendent within the statutory 21 daysafter tiie termination of tlie agreement.'. The defence contended that the agreement did not terminate until every member was paid oil'. The mate re* mained on the vessel anil one seaman failed to sign oil'. Defendants were convicted and ordered to pay Court costs.. William Waller, master of the Wi'mmer, was charged with failing lo enter in the log an agreement with Michael Smith, seaman on the Whinner. The case was adjourned until November z'A, as the Winnner is at present in dock in Sydney.
