Henry Carlson pleaded guilty to stealing money and jewellery of a total value of £25. lie was remanded to tlic Supreme Court for sentence. Christehurch, Last NigUit. The chief stoker of tilie 11.M.5. Pioneer, John McDonald Bower, was charged ait the Jyjrtteltoa Police Court this morning with having unshipped from the Pioneer certain goods on which, being dutiable, the duty had not been paid or secured, to wit, one pair of boots, value lis. After hearing Hie case, and the evidence on both sides, the Bencli fined accused £2 2s and costs.
