WESTPORT MURDER TRAGEDY

With reference to the tragedy at Wcstport commonly known as "the \Vestport murder case," aud the sensational sequel, the confession of Connolly in which lie admitted having killed Burke in a lit of temper, and the release ol' llallinen and Anderson, who had been convicted and .sentenced for the crime, it is understood that the Government has been requested to consider the case with the view of granting compensation to the two men who wert wrongly convicted. It. will be remem--1 bered that the unfortunate man Ander- » son died a few days ago from epileptic ' tits, and it is alleged that his death ■ was partly due to the worry and incutil ' pain caused by bis wrongful conviction. The whole case is now being considered 4 by tjie Government.
