In the District Court .to-day, Jessie lloward, a member of the Howard Vernon Coy., who was swept down the: llullev river on 10th May through the Nine Mile punt carrying away, brought an action against the Crown to recover ,t4.->0 geftiei-al damages, .-C2BO 18s 3d •special damages, and £lO 10s medical expenses. The jury brought in a verdict for £2OO. counsel's five £l3 3s, and Count and .witnesses' expenses. Several other claims arc pending.
