TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

Tin' committee of tile Turanaki Agricultural Hoeietv met on Wednesday. Mr. W. Ambury presided over a iarue attendance. A hearty vote 0 f thanks was accorded •Mr. Harry Okey, M.l'., for his services to the society in connection with the appointment of judge for the daily produce section and other matters. ■Mr. Stanley Smith expressed his intention of donating a, prize to the com niitteeman who secured the largest number of financial members from date to the sllnw. A vote of (.hanks was accorded to nil who had contributed to the society's special prize list. Special mention was made of the kindness of .Mr. C. W. (lovelf, who although away from the Dominion had made arrangements J'w his usual special prize. The tender of Mr. K. Whittle for the publican's booth was accepted, and the matter 01 catering was left with the chairman and secretary to arrange. The, secretary was instructed to obtain prices for music for the second day of the show. A grounds committee consisting of Messrs. Stanley, Stead, Smith, Watson, Wood, l''agan, and Mills was elected to make, all necessary arrangements for laying-out the show-grounds. It was decided that in. Ihe event of the general election taking place on 2oth November, the livst day of tin' show, the ,ho\v should be proceeded with in the usual way. A subcommittee was set up to consider the advisability of arranging for ploughing matches to he held at 'some future date at a place to be agreed upon.
