"WAITAIiA IiOAD. The Lepporlon Hand of Hope gave a very successful entertainment in the Jluirangi Hall on Wednesday. The following temperance song s were rendered: "The No-License .Marseillaise," "Onward all ye people,'' "Strike out the Top Line,' 1 ami " Uod Bless Our Land." The following contributed items: Pianoforte solo, Miss JDodd; solo, llr. lioberts: recitations, .Miss West, .Miss ,1. Wright. 'Miss I'. Hall, and Mr. Brown. Son-js 'Were rendered by Miss K. Dodd, Mr. lirown, and Master Allan Old: and a duet by Miss Hull and Mr. Roberts. A very sueces.-dui dialogue, " WanLr l. a Cook," was well rendered by several' members of the company. During the evening Mr. O. 11. Maunder delivered a very interesting and instructive ad-1 dress on the composition of beer ami. its after-cU'ecls, which was attentively listened to.

Owing to the increased supply the directors have under ronsideratiou the putting i JL of another separator. Messrs. Jlray Bros, have secured tii" l output of butter at IP/,d, ami if the ■cason eontiuues favourable the output will be a record one for the factory. Mr. lieppell has just installed a Lawrence-Kennedy (Jillies milking machine and oil engine, ami intends dairying in the future.
