The annual report of tile Lands Transfer and Deeds Registration Department is always an interesting document for those who care to analyse the figures contained therein. The* tabulated' figures. like most of the other departmental returns, give the most meagre details, sufficient only to comply with the requirements of law. The Mercantile (.'azctt-e has made it its business to extract all the informal ion possible, and by comparison with previous rears there is consider:!M,. value in the returns.
