THE DAIRY REGULATIONS.
liie dairy regulations have undergone considerable alteration at the hands of the Mock Committee of the Uou.se of Representatives. The main provisions, as amended, may be summarised as under :—Fees for registration are fixed as follow :—Not more than Akre'e cows in milk, Is per annum; from three to twenty cows, 5s per annum; molt than twenty eows, 10s"*per annum. Dairies must comply with the following among other conditions—(a) Six hundred cubic feet air space per cow. (Ib) J-wn iloor, formed of concrete, wood, or other materia] impervious t« water. (c) Yearly white washing, (d) No cowshed to be erected within thirty feet of any stable, fowlhouse, etc. (e) No cowshed to be erected within thirty feet of any dwelling house, (f) livery cowshed in winch more than six cows are to be milked and not provided with sufficient stalling accommodation, to be provided with proper yard accommodation, (g) Every cowsl'ied, niilkhouse, or other buildings where mill; is kept or stored must be properly constructed, lighted. V'lntila'ted, cleansed, and so on. (h) Xo seiwage, drain, gully, 01* drain-trap may bo witllia any cowshed or milkhouse.
