AT THE CAROLINE ISLANDS. Sydney, October 13. It is reported from the Caroline Islands that the native police despatched to l'onaipc to quell the rising returned after a tight with the natives. A number of the latter were shot. Latest reports slate that the fighting is confined to rival native tribes. The German East India squadron has arrived at the Islands and peace is now assured. Jit is reported that the natives of the Rock Islands, belonging to the New Ponnnem group, for some unexplained reason, massacred thirty of their women folk. A punitive expedition will be sent there. ■*
