PLACARDING DOOIi.S OF MINISTERS London, Octoficr 12. The Women's Freedom League attempted before sunrise to placard the doors of Cabinet Ministers' residences, the House of Commons, and Government ollices and also Nelson's column with a proclamation claiming votes for women. The police largely frustrated flic coup. A force of 5000 police and 200 mounted men will guard the .precincts of Parliament on Tuesday to prevent the suffragist women's proposed rush. FRANCHISE FOR VICTORIA. Melbourne, October 13. The Premier of Victoria, Sir Thomas Betft, while addressing n meeting, *.inounced that he had ''turned turtle" on the question of women's franchise and intended to introduce the necessary measure. He hoped file women would have the franchise within a year.
