MEETING OF SIIAUEIIOLLIEKIi By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Monday At a general meeting of shareholders of the Wellington and Manawatu Kailway Co., lielil to-day, the chairman drew attention to the iaet Uiat the gross revenue for the six mouths ended ou August 31 amounted to £83,272, as compared with £78,272 for the corresponding period Inst year. The net prolit for the six months snowed the substantial increaso of ,£3148 compared wiUi the not results of the uperiuiuiis during the first half of last jvar. After referring in detail to the negotiations with the Government, the chairman added that the shareholders would naturally look to the directors for some expression of opinion as to tire amount shares should realise upon the completion of the purchase and tile realisation of the remaining assets of the company. Provided that the company was immune from serious accident or other unforeseen expenditure, the directors considered that the sum of £2 los per slhare was assured altogether, although he hoped that the estimate might be slightly exceeded. , The meeting ratified the action of the directors in agreeing to sell the railway and oDher property to tie Government.
