HEALTH OFFICER'S WARNING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. In the annual health report 01 tlus Auckland district, Dr. Purdy utters a warning to parents about the danger of tetanus (lockjaw), rendered necessary by t'iie occurrence of sevcU cases of tetanus, all fatal, during the year. Six out of the seven cases were associated with cuts received by hare-footed children playing on the seashore. The District Health Officer says that parents would bo well advised to provide children with sandals when they take them to the seaside. He adds: "Although the practice of going bare-foot-ed is to be commended from a hygienic standpoint in localities where there is danger of the feet .-emg injured by broken glass or a rusty nail a3 abrasions and slight wounds should be carefully treated."
