AN EXCITING VOYAGE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. 'Die barquentrae Helga, 1311 tons, arrived in Wellington to-day after a somewhat exciting voyage. She left Newcastle for Wellington 011 September 20 with a cargo of coal for the Wellington and Mannwatu Railway Go. At 4 a.m. on the 22nd, when a hoavv sea was prevailing a severe squall struck the sliip and she lost her lore-royal mast, top-gallant mast, royal topmast, and main topmast. Two days later the mizzi'ii-.boom was carried Jiway, and 011 the Mime day some top gear struck nil ordinary seaman named O'G'raily, aged 21 years, severely injuring one. of his hips, and though he is joiv able to get about the unfortunate young man may be permanently crippled. The Helga ■was jury rigged, and ns favorable winds prevailed. Captain Pearson decided to continue the voyage to Wellington. The Helga is under charter to Mr. Redpafh, of Lyttelton.
