Dtincdin, Last Night. , At the annual meeting of the New . Zealand Golf Council, the statement of f receipts and expenditure showed a very , satisfactory financial position. It was t reported that the following clubs had ~ alliliated during the year:—Lawrence, . Core, Waverley, Kimbolton, Balclutha 1 (men's club), St. Clair, liivereargill, ~ Wcstpoii, Oreymouth, and Hagley „ (ladies). It was decided that the ( , championship of 190!) be played at ~ Auckland, an open championship to be ~\ one of the events. It was decided ~ that, the irext amateur championship ~ I be open to all amateurs who arc recogI nised golf clubs.
A bogey handicap match was played on Saturday afternoon for a prize presented by Mr. C. 11. Burgess, tilie best scores being:—AY. 0. Weston (hep. 3), ;j down; L. Hansen (scr.), 4 down; H. B. Armitago (hep. 0), 4 down; F. S.i Johns (scr.),. (1 down; A. It. Glasgow (hep. 3), 7 down; J. Paton (hep.'fl), 7 down; L. W. Alexander (hep. 8), 7 down.
On Thursday next an electric match will be played for Mr. Johns' prize.
