The prices are particularly low. The Hospital Board invites tenders for carting broken metal from ihe county crusher at Waiwakaiho to t.'ie hospital. The Borough Council invite tenders, to close to-morrow (Friday) for grazing rights for one year of part of the racecourse reserve.
The Mortgage, Loan and Agency Co., of which Mr. E. P. Webster is the secretary, is prepared to receive money on deposit in sums of £SO and upwards, bearing interest at 5 per cent. The Elliot Road Board insert an advertisement re proposed special loan. A meeting of ratepayers will be held at the Public Hall, Westown, on October 10th, to consider the proposal. The official opening of the Esplanade extension will take place this afternom at 3 o'clock. The public is cordially invited. The Garrison Band will attend. Afternoon tea will Ibe procurable on the ground. Ainlmry Bros.' millinery display is as charming" as a spring garden. Every day there will be a change of display. Patrons are requested to visit the premises early and select. The show will be more comprehensive than ever. The attention of members of the Fitzroy Bowling, Tennis, and Croquet Club is directed to an advertisement convening the annual general meeting for t»niglit (Thursday). As matters of very great importance will be brought forward, it is hoped that there will be a full attendance of members. OLYMPTA SKATIXG RWK. To-night will be the crowning event of the rinking season, and everything is being done to make the carnival to-nig'it a monstrous success. The Drill Hall is decorated with goTgeons colors and bunting, and the sweet music from the bawl and the arrangement of the pr> gramme of events should draw a large number of spectators. A very enjoyable evening should ensue.
