SUICIDE BY HANGING.
A suicide of an old resident of New I'lymouth was reported yesterday. The discovery of the body was made about seven o'clock in the morning by a lid named Coombcs, who was driving in cows on the racecourse. The body was suspended from one of the pines about hall'wav between the Avenue road and the T,I.C. grandstand. The boy straightway ran and informed Mr. lilewniau, the custodian of the course, anil he sent for further assistance. When ill" body was cut down it was found th-il lire must have been extinct for some hours, and a message was sent to the police. The late Mr. Lawson was very ■.veil known in New Plymouth, and in* numerous relations and friends here. An inquest will lie held this morning.
