FIRES.
RACEHORSE STABLES DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ashburto.i, Tuesdav. A lire this morning destroyed Zetland Lodge, owned bv .Mr. J. C. X. tii'igg and used as a racing stable. Besides tile building, gear aud feed, three valuably) racehorses, Stepup (valued at .t\)0), Restless ( ajO), and Interpreter ( £100) were destroyed. a detached sleeping apartment was also burned, though the contents were saved. 'fire origin of the (ire is unknown. When discovered the (lames had a strong hold mid it was only with, much dillir, thai -fira out of the ten horses were rescued. Both' Restless ami Stepup" were promising horses and had been .successful in recent races. The insurance on the stables was £4OO, and on the men's rooms £2O in the Liverpool, London and Olohe. No policy covered the horses. The total loss over the insurances is about .Cl.'lOO.
