The Taranaki Land Board held its monthly meeting yesterday. There were present: Messrs. 1\ Simpson (Commissioner ol' Crown Lands), McOluggage, Connett, Uatenbury. and Heslop. NEW LEGISLATION. A memorandum from the L'nder-iSscc-retary for Crown Lauds was read, advising that the provisions of section .Si of "The Land Act. 1008,"' applied to a'l leases and licenses whether granted before or after the coming into operation of "The Land Laws Amendment Act, ISJO7,'' except pastoral licenses, which are specially excepted. Branigan was granted an extension of time in which to comply with the residence conditions on section 25. block 14, Ohura. Two years' exemption from the residence conditions was, upon the report of the ranger, granted to M. Clark, section 1, block 1, Ohura, on the ground that there was no suitable building site on the section. MANdAPAiI'A (iLIKAMEIiY. The ranger j-qmrted upon the application of the Ohura Dairy Co. for about an acre of section 8, block 12, Aria, for the Manga papa creamery.—Application approved, at a price of £lO. ERASES TO ISSUE. Calgher's interest in section 17, block 14, was deferred until next meeting, together with the nppli- ; cation of the same lirm, on behalf of 11. i K. Eight, to acquire the section without competition. The ranger was instructed to furnish a report as to the best means of dealing with the application of E. W. Davis for a portion ot the Aria township reserve to be added to his holding, or that he bo given a lease of if for a term of years. The Commissioner reported that .*•.
