DAIRY FACTORY COMPANIES.
The following is the eleventh annual report of the Lowgarth Co-operative Dairv Company, which was considered at the annual general meeting of shareholders on Thursday:—"ln submitting the balance-sheet, your directors consider that, having regard to the unfavourable- nature of the past season for cheese makers, the result should give satisfaction. .Some second-grade cheese was turned nut, but the quantity was not large. On an average the cheese realised .i.4ld on the factory weights, and suppliers have received already 11 i/,,l per lb. for butter-fat, with a sum of ~C3OS increased supply necesislMcd a large addition to the building's and plant, costing :C(i!«! Us 7d. An accumulated profit "of .Ejß Is (id upon our shares in the Taranaki Producers' Freezing Works Comoanv, Ltd., has .been added to reserve, not being available for distribution There are two vacancies on the directorate to lie iilled, -Messrs. Sta'iforil and Croot retiring by rotation. An auditor must also be appointed and his remuneration fixed. Your directors have thought it advisable to join in the cooperative marketing movement now bein,, organised liv the National Dairy Aslocialion." The milk received, during the past season amounted to 7,ia<»,510 lbs' of an average test of 3.87, and produced 27lUt»lbs. of butter-fat.
