The ballot for lots 1 and 17 of thi Culverden settlement, tlhrowa up by' the successful applicants at the first ballot, took place to-day and resulted as follows:—Lot 1 (25 applicants), area 712 acres 1 rood, half-yearly rental .C 73 2s fid, Mrs. Jane Popplewcll, Raincliil', Pleasant Point; lot 7 (21 applicants), area 1552 acres, half-yearly rental £ll3 Bs, Mrs. Christona ClnrK, Haiwarden.
The Oomniisioner of Crown LanuV (Mr. E. C. Goldsmith), at the meeting of the Canterbury Land Board yesterday, laid bofore the Board a plan and schedules for the purpose of having the whole of the available lands in the Cnlverden township offered for selection on renewable leases. The plan and Schedules were approved.
