WANUANUI SESSIONS. | liy Telegraph.—Press Association. Wauganui, Last Night. An interesting ease was before the Supreme Court yesterday and to-day. Under the provisions of the Slaughtering Inspection Act, 11)08, the Borough Council delegated powers to Uie Wauganui freezing Company to establish abattoirs in the town of Vi'anga.iui. The Freezing Company had been conducting the abattoirs since 1!)02. Kc eently the company entered into the retail trade, and the local butchers objected to a continuance of the powers delegated to the company by the Do,rough Council. They contended that apart from the unsatisfactory manage ment, the Freezing Company ivas given an unfair advantage over other butchers in that they were made aware of competitors' business. The Borough Council was approached and asked to establish independent abattoirs, but refused. Tucker Bros, then took til--matter to Hie Supreme Court, which today gave judgment for the Borough Council and the company, with cost! as on a claim for .-CSOO, ten guineas'* extra per day to each defendant, andI tiie usual Court costs.
INVERCARGILL SESSIONS. Invorairgill, Last Night. Tlio Supremo Court was occupied today in lion ring a case of alleged sheep stealing against Jas. Robertson. Ac-' cuscd pleaded not guilty. The case was unfinished when the Court rose.
