FATAL FIRE.
By telegraph.—Press Association. Bnvereargill, Monday. A four-roomed house at Makarewa, owned by Joseph Fruser, was burned. FraSer, a man of 00, was in the home at the time, and was burned to del .h. He was an invalid. His wife and ton were milking in a shed 100 yards away and the place was in flames when they reached it.
THE INQUEST. Invercargill, Last Night. At an inquest to-day on tin- bony of Joseph Frtiser, who was burned to death, a verdict was returned that death was due to suffocation and burning, no blame being attachable to nnyom>. Jollin' C'ampliell was commended for his prompt efforts at re'-'euo.
