EMPIRE CADET SHOOTING MATCH. Received 1, 1.5 a.m. Sydney, August 31. The Commonwealth team in the competition with the cadet teams throughout the Empire in the Earl Empire match, shot poorly. Their total was 436. The top scorer was Corporal Hyde, of Queensland, with 05.
TRANSCONTINENTAL CYCLING. Adelaide, August 31. The cyclist Birtles has arrived here from Port Darwin, lhaving cycled overland. Since leaving Perth about two years ago he has ridden 12,000 miles.
