COLLISION OF STEAMERS.

XAKKOW ESCAPE FROM FOUNDERING. Sydney, August 28. At an early hour tlhis morning a collision occurred between Hie steamer Colae and the Collier I'arcora at the Heads. The Colac was entering the harbor, and the collier was outward bound.

A .huge hole was torn in the Colae's port bow. The bulkhead saved her from foundering. A fireman had u narrow escape from being crushed lo death ia his bunk. Both vessels returned to port. The extent of the damage to tha collier is lot yet known.
