ter Bay, containing a lady and gentlenam and two children, bolted. Kerniit pursued on horseback for a mile and brought the runaways to a standstill by seizing the reins, almost unhorsing himself in so doing. Kerniit departed without revealing his identity to the grateful occupant* of the carriage.
