At my Stratford yards on Tuesday calves made lis Od to 18s, 12- to Idmonths steers 23s to 345, IS-inoiltlis heifers 20s to 375, 2- to 2'/,-year steers £4 os to £4 15s Od, store cow's £1 5s lo £3. In the dairy pens springing cows made £5 to £8 His, heifers £3 5s to' £ti "s Od, late and backward calvers £2 to £5 10s. The special line of Jersey bulls were not looking well, bong in rather poor condition. Top price rwalised was £2l. On Wednesday there was a fair attendance at the sale on account of Mr. E. Julian, Oakura. The cows were rather backward aud low in condition, but sold at full market rates, early calvers making £5 to £7 12s od, late do. £2 10s to £4 15s, bull £4 2s 0d: horse, trap and harness, £18; pony, j.4 ss. At Westowu on Thursday, the sale on account of Mr. J. U. Moutefiore was largely attended, with most satisfactory results. Ponies made £5 10s to £11; 10-months foal, £0 10s; store pigs, £1 6s to £1 las; turkeys, 8s; ducks, 2s, hens, 3s 2d. Furniture, etc, sold well. VICKERS & STEVEN'S REPORT. Messrs. Vickers & Stevens report that there was a largo entry of cattle in their Inglewood yards ou Wednesday, there being a large elltry of springers, the best of which sold well, but old and backward ones were hard to quit. Year-1 lings made 15s to £1 4s Od, empty heifers £1 12s Od to £2 lis, store cows £1 5s to £2 Bs, backward springers £2 5s to £3 10s, good springers £4 to £0 15s. ' At. Mr. H. Wilson's clearing sale on Monday cows made from £2 2s (id to £6 10s, calves £1 4s, roan mare £24 10s, and the farm was sold to Mr. J. Neilsen. WEBSTER.BROS.' REPORT. On Saturday we had a big entry of poultry of all kinds, and prices showad j a decided upward tendency. Fowls made Is lid to 2s Gd, pullets 2s 2d to 3s 4.1, late chicks Is Od, roosters Is to Is KM, ducks Is 8d to .Is Ud. A large consignment of trees sold at usual prices. JENKINS, MATTHEWS & PIGOTT'S REPORT. | On Thursday last we held a clearing sale for Mr. James Perry at Urenui and had a good attendance of buyers, everything realising satisfactory prices. Tin dairy cows averaged £5 (is lid per bead. The Naw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cable from their London' oflice. dated 27th August,— "Sheepskins sales open on 10th September, and we anticipate market will be Ann."

Cattle.—At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were varded in usual numbers and sold at late rates. The beef pens were well filled with mostly light weights of good quality, which sold under keen competition at last week's prices, oxen selling to 2lis per llinlli.. and cows up to 21s to 24s per 10011.. Steers sold at frtm £0 10s to £l2 10s: cows, £4 10s to .tit; dairy caws, £3 Ills to £7 ss: empty cows. C2 2s (id to £2 Ills; calves, 17s to £1 Bs. Most of the averages of fat oxen were over £lO. Sheep.—There was a full yarding of sheep at Newmarket on Tuesday, which sold under stead v competition at late rater.. Wethers realised from 13s to £l os. which price was realised for one small pen; ewes, 13s Ud to 10s; hoggets, 13s (ill to £1 Is; spring lambs, lfls to 17s; store wethers. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company report:—At Ohaupo last Tuesday week we had a large yarding of sheep, 800 store cattle, and 100 dairy cows and heifers. There wa3 a good attendance and a good inquiry for store cattle, but sheep .showed little improvement. CHBISTCHI'RCH STOCK MARKET. At the Addington live stock market on Wednesday there was a large entry of stock and a irood attendance. Fat cattle sold at about hist week's rates. Store hoirgets showed an improvement: other sorts .were unchanged. Till lambs showed no change: fat sheep were rather firmer. Store cattle and dairy cows were .bill of sale. l>ig., sold well. The carding of store -beep was much smaller than last week, hoggets forming the bulk. There was a better inquiry for hoggets, and they recovered to the extent of about (id per head.
