THE MISSING AEON.
MYSTERIOUS SIGNALS. Sydney, August 28. The steamer Willcsden reports that after they passud Sydney Island, one of the Phoenix Group, on the 12th' inst., she saw signals from tie shore. Had they been made earlier the vessel would have inquired about them, but» feeing short of coal, she could not return. The theory is held here that tte signals may have had some connection with thq missing steamer Aeon, -hut Lever Brothers, who lease the island, state. Mat their employees are in the habit of signalling vessels ia order to obtain newspapers from them.
