UNIFORM AMMUNITION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. In order to ensure ttot the ammunition to be used at the next Trentlinm riiie meeting shall be of uniform character, Colonel Collins, executive officer of the New Zealand Rifle Association, lias arranged with the Colonial Ammunition Company to manufacture a special lot of 120,000 cartridges, to be made up in packets of seven, eight, ten, and eleven rounds. LETTERS POSTED. Wellington, Last Niglil. At the letter-carriers' annual uiu;ur to-night, Sir Joseph Ward said the letters posted in the Dominion last yen numbered 85/j. millions, an increase uf 0% millions over 1906. The total number of all articles posted was'l2s% millions. CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED MURDER.
