. MKL'IiOPOUTAN COMMITTEE. The Metropolitan Committee met last evening. Present! Messrs. C. Lcj>per (chairman), Blundell, A. R. titandiab, £. P. Webster, W. C. Weston, and W. bole. A letter was received from the Racing Conference, requesting information re unfencej courses.—lt was decided that the Conference be informed that there ore two unfenced courses in the district —Patea and Opuaake. The Racing Conference (Christchurcli) .mote that the claim of Hurle (jockey), Who was hurt by colliding with a cow, had been paid from the funds of the Conference. -» Applications for licenses were granted as follows; Gentlemen riders: S. C. JlcEae (Patea), T. E. McKenzic (Ha = wera), C. H. Washer • (laaha). Trainers' licenses: 0. Cox (Hawera), li. J. Milne (Normanby), C. H. Parker (Waitara), HATaylor (Waitara). Jockeys' liceniea: W. A. Hurle (Hew Plymoutli), A. J. Milue (Normanby), H. Robson, an apprentice (Hawora), John Trigger (New Plymoutli). T. Jones' applicatioa for a jockey's license was held over till the October meeting of the committee.

TARANAKI JOCKJSi CLUB. The Taranaki Jockey Club afterwards met, the same members being present. Resolved, That a ibonus of £3 3s be forwarded to tihe Christchurch Press Co. towards the publication of the Turf Register, and that one copy be applied for. Resolved, That the usual levy of ,C 1 per day for each racing day be forwarded to the Racing Conference. The North Taranaki Hunt Club wrote thanking the Club for power given to •use the course on September 10th. A vote of thanks was passed to the Hon O. Samuel, M.L.C., for acting as delegate at the Wellington Conference H. Aldworth (Martmi) was appointed starter for the Christmas meeting; Mr. G. Moore handicapper for the season; timekeeper, Mr. F. kj°br; assistant derk of scales, Mr. W L. Weston.
