SilEAliJSitS' ACCOMMODATION BILL By Telegraph.—l'ress Association. l'aliuerslon X., Tuesday. At a meeting of lhe Manawatu Agricultural and Pastoral Association today .Mr. \Y. F. Jacobs, relerring to the Shearers' Accommodation UiU, stated that it was most drastic. It simply meant that employers would have to tind a livc-rooiged house for shearers at a cost of over £2OO for a few weeks eacili year. They would require to find a dining room and sleeping room fc(r Hie shearers, a sleeping room for the cook, a ,bathroom, and a kitchen. He moved: "That this Association strongly protests against the Bill, which is quite uncalled-for, and, if carried, will inllict grave hardship and quite unnecessary cxpem-e on sheep-owners, especially owners of small Hocks, in having to provide buildings which are only needed for a few days each year; and that this Association also respectfully protests against Bills of this character, which seriously affect the agricultural and pastorai industries, .being referred to, the Labor Bills Committee to take evidence and, report oil; furtlher, that a copy of the resolution be sent to the Prime Miiiistor and the Minister of Labor, and that Mr. W. T. Wood, M.P. for Palmvrston, be askcrt, as vice-presi-dent of the Association, to oppose the Bill in Parliament." The motion was carried itanimonsly. PERJURY CHARGES DISMISSED. Hawera, Tuesday.
