AGAINST POSTAL OFFICIALS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Friday. J nines Alwin Smith appeared at the Supreme Court to answer a charge of forgery of postal notes. After hearing the evidence for the prosecution, Judge Edwards discounted the evidence of the experts as to handwriting, and said he would not hang a dog on such evidence, .the jury, without retiring, returned a verdict of not guilty. Accused was discharged. A similar case .against William Wayward Cummins was also dismissed, .without hearing of the evidence, winch was the same as in the previous case.
