Xlie adjourned annual meeting of the Egmont l!ox Company was licld in the company's ollice on Tuesday forenoon. The report and balance-sheet, purlieula 13 of which have already appeared, were read. .Mr. 15. Dive, in moving the adoption, slsital that the company had Jiiteen months' supply of timber on hand, besides tile standing bush, etc., mentioned in the report. The company, it- was explained, liad no intention of extending its operations outside the province and there had been no intention of going into the ordinary timber trade, but the bush they had acquired contained other timbers which were being cut out and disposed of witlhout any difficulty, shareholders getting an extra discount The cutting capacity of their present mill was about 8000, and they expected the new one would be similar. Messrs. J. J. Campbell and R. Dingle were re-elected to the directorate without opposition. Messrs. Brown and Collins were nominated for the vacancy caused by the death of Mr Joll, and on a poll being taken Mr. Collins «s declared elected. Mr. Parrott was reelected auditor. On the motion of Mr. J. Marx, it was decided that the nominal capital of the company .be increased from £IO,OOO to £20,000 by tlhe creation of additional capital of the amount of £IO,OOO divided into 10,000 shares of £1 each. Dnrin the discusion on the proposal the information was -elicited that the concern was now too big to work with the original capital. The chairman was voted an honorarium of £SO, and Messrs. Campbell and Dingle £ls eaijh.—Star.
