AUCKLAND SITTINGS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Wednesday. Prisoners scut lrom the lower Court were sentenced at tlie Supreme Court as follows:—Robert Grant Gilbert, lor theft and breaking and entering,"two years' imprisominmt on each of tne threa counts, the terms to be concurrent; Daniel Olveefe, theft from a dwelling, one year; Henry Walter Alton, forging certificate to obtain employment on the railways, probation for two years; Percy AlcQuillan, breaking, entering, and theft, two years'; Alfred Harris, theft, one year; A.exander James Stewart (a man with a bad re- ] cord), false, pretences, two years on each of seven charges, terms to he concurrent; William Green, false pretences, one year; AValter Davis Scott, I'alSc pretences, eighteen mouths'. " s Four natives, followers of Run, the "prophet.'' were charged with cattlestealing at Paeroa. Tiiey admitted the offence and were admitted to probation, Judge Edwards stating that- the men had been led away by a falsti prophet. Auckland, Later. The four men sentenced to-day wcro not followers oF Run, but of a* local leader who has exercised a baneful inlluence for some time.
