ACCIDENTS IN AMERICA. ; . New York, August 4. A 76-h.p. Mercedes car, while running ft a speed of 110 miles an hour at Brooklands, left the track. The sudden stoppage shot the occupants a distance of 100 feet acros the river Wey, Burke, the mechanician, was killed, and Lade, the driver, injured. five people .killed. San Francisco, August 4. ( - The emergency brakes of a motor car running at San Francisco snapped and the ear fell over a steep embankment. Mrs. AlcCormick and her daughter, aged 18, and Mrs. O-flrnjn and her son and baby were killed. These families are well-known in San Francisco, xwo of the occupants of the car were not injured.
