THE BRUCE COAUIOiES TROUBLE. By Telegraph.—l'ress Association. Duncdin, August 1. As a result of two days' conference file dispute between the Bruce .Milling Company and lhu miners bus bcijn settled. An agreement was arrived at oil all but two points—truckers' wages and weighing. Upon these points the Arbitration Court's decision in other eases will bvj accepted.
THE BAKERS' STRIKE, Wellington, Last Night. Tile bakers' strike committee has decided to continue the present policy of strike pay and picketing. Tliu men are determined to leave the district rather than accept the present conditions, and many of t'liem are doing so, remarked a member of the committee yestvnlay, Strike pay was again distributed yesterday afternoon. Funds are coming in fairly well, and an additional tliO lias lieen voted this week. Some of the strikers, who are working for men who signed the union agreement, are paying ,tl a week out of their wages for the support of the strikers. The men are said to l|iwe great holies of legislation being introduced providing an eight-hour day in file bakehouse irrespective of Arbitration Court, awards, and also daylight linking. It is quite probable that an amendment to secure those bootis will be moved during the debate oil the Arbitration Hill.
