FRANK THORNTON'S FAREWELL. ■Sir. Frank Thornton, who appears ai, tile Theatre Royal on Monday evening next, is touring New Zealand for (lie last time. Of the many successes that come here periodically Mr. Thornton ranks as one of the greatest, so that his present visit, which is to bo the last, will.meet with regret from thousands of his admirers. Mr, Thornton is one of the most popular artists the Australasian theatre-goer knows, and is loved by a very wide circle of friends and amusement-seekers, who are never tired of witnessing his drolleries. He takes his farewell in the character we know him so well in, that of the Private Secretary. His English Company is spoken of in high praise by the Press generally in the centres down South. Mr. Thornton is said to be even better to-day than he ever was, which means a great deal. "With his admirers we alw regret Mr. Thornton's retirement from the stage, for it will lie hard to replace him. The plan for reserving seats is open'at the Dresden Piano Agency.
