LAND BOARD MEETINGS
I By Telegraph.—Press Association. "> Wellington; Last Night. Ah interview butween tlie Minister fur Lands and a deputation from ,Iflie> New Zealand Fanners' Union Conference elicited front'the Hon. Mr. MeNab an expression ,of liis willingness to Imve meetings of Land Boards in largo districts, 3ueh as Otago, held fortnightly instead of monthly. A .report to this effect was made to the Conference by Mr. llockloy this morning, wh«n hfl also intimated that the Minister acquiesced in a suggestion that the allowance of ten shillings per day was not sufficient to meet the expenses to which struggling Crown tenants, who were members of Land Boards, were put to in travelling long distances to attend Such meetings. Mr. McNab was in favor of increasing the allowance, but ns it was fixed by Statute, he was personally powerless in the matter.
