At the instance of Sir Edward Grey, the deputation representing the 'Egyptian National Assembly and the Legislative Council submitted the matters they wished to emphasise to him. ' Sir Edward Grey said lie was glad to receive lor the first time a deputation from Egyptian notabilities, and promised earnestly to consider all tliey had said, adding that Britain had always striven, and would always strive, "to benefit the progress of Egypt. The deputation -was greatly pleased with their reception.
