BRITISH LICENSING BILL.

A HUGE DEMONSTRATION. . London, July 20. Over one hundred thousand people joined in a demonstration at Hyde Park in favor of the Licensing Bill, The crowd was accompanied by as many as a hundred bands, and score* of banners were displayed. Mr. Winston Churchill, President of the Board of Trade, uddresscU the crowd. He claimed that the demonstration proved that the Bill was supported by the great masses of the people. There were 120 speakers, who addressed different sections of the crowd from 20 platforms. Among tliem wero Sir T. P. Whittaker, M.P., a mem-' ber of the Royal Commission on Licensing Laws of 1800-90, Messrs. Will. Crooks and Arthur Henderson, leading Labor members of Parliament, and Dr. Clifford, the noted Non-conformist preacher.
