THE ISOLATED LEPERS.
IMPROVING UNDER NEW CURE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ohristchureh., I-.ast Night. Dr. Mason, Chief Health Oilieer, arrived from Wellington yesterday and spent most of the day at Quail Island, lie states that, both the leper patients are extremely comfortable, and as contented as the distressing nature of their circumstances will permit. A few months ago Dr. Mason noticed that the discovery of a new remedy for leprosy had been made by Professor Deycko I'ashii, and immediately cabled Home for a supply. The remedy is known as "Nasliin B.j" and is bcin'g injected under the supervision of ])r. Upliam. Since its use has been commenced, Dr. Mason says a great improvement in the condition of both patients is noticeable, 'flic Maori youth particularly has made splendid progress towards recovery. Dr. Mason leaves for Timaru to-day and goes as far as Dimedin, returning to Wellington towards the end of the current week.
