INDIAN DISAFFECTION.
SYMPATHY FOR SEDITIONIST. Calcutta, July 24. 'Die cloth and copper bazaar's, the markets and the majority of the Hindoo s'hopa at Bombay are closed to betoken sympathy with Tilak, the nationalist leader, who has been sentenced to. transportation for six years for publishing seditious articles. At Bombay 20,000 mill hands have struck and further riots have occurred. The military suppressed the riots with firearms, killing one and wounding several of the rioters.
ATTEMPT TO WRECK A STATION. HOLDING UP A TRAIN. VOLUNTEERS FIRE ON THE MOB, Received 26, 4.15 p.m. Calcutta, July 25. A mob at Bombay attempted to wreck the Curry Road station. Tliey held up a train and stoned a niagistrato and the police, whereupon the volunteers volloyed, killing Ave and wounding fiftythree.
