From Otago: "That the Government be urged to establish clothing and boot factories, flour and woollen, mills, bakeries, ironworks ami iroji, shipbuilding yards, and to nationalise the marine coastal and intercolonial sendees." An amendment was moved: "That the Government nationalise all industries when the opportunity offers." 'The amendment was carried and it was sub-, sequently amended by the addition of the words "especially those industries connected with the necessaries of life." '
