There was a satisfactory attendance, and the sum of £12,983 was passed through the totalizator, against £18,388 for the corresponding day last year. Results: Glasgow Handicap—Oxton 1, Duirl 2, Yosami 3. Also ran: Maid of Astolat, The Beer, Golden Gale, Wharckura. Wharckura jiiiiijwcl round at the post, I and took no part in t'li-e race. Oxton
and Yosami led to the home turuj where the former came away and won by three lengths. Time, lmin 8 4-ssce.
Kuvori Hack Handicap— Dr. .Shimosc 1, Vasa 2, North Pole 3. Also started: Spinning Flight, Blue Ribbon, Skye, Camp Fire, and C'onsuelo. Dr. Shimose led throughout and won all out by a neck. Time, lmin 34sec.
•Second Hack Hurdles—Full Cry J Ghoorka 2, Jolly Roger 3. Also ran: Defeat, .Snip, Hatley, Otaraoa, Liberator, and Oakburn. Won bv two lengths, lime, 3min.
Wellington Steeplechase—Nadador 1. [LcA Fyne 2, Tilson 3. Also ran: lierre and Hullworth. Tilson led for two miles, where Pierre fell when running prominently. The last time passing the stand, the Held was well logclliey, with the exception of Bullworth. Nadador took charge six furlongs from borne, and won by six lengths, two lengths between second and third. Time, Tniin 3l)sec.
Waterloo Handicap- California 1. Dawn •>, Ma'liaranui ;(. Also ran: teaman, Paragon, Swimming Belt, Tupono. Rang.papa, Merrie Zealand, Chief Loeh[lela, Kurukapu, and Silken Rein. U'on by a nose. The North Taranaki Hunt Club has been duly registered and a programme has been drawn up by the eommiUcH for a meeting to he held on the .New; Plymouth racecourse on Thursday, [September 10. The programme includes seven events, live of which are for
qualified hunters, the remaining two being open hack events over a Hat) course. The club expects that the
meeting, coming as it does a fortnight after the Wanganui-Eginont meeting, will be patronised by good hunters. Permission to issue riders' certificates
has been granted by the Taranaki Metropolitan Club. These certificates can t>e obtained on t'lie day at 5s each.
TARANAKI METROPOLIT 4N COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Taranaki Mctropo. litan Committee was held on Tuesday night. There were present: Messrs. Bhmdell, Clill', Ellis, King, Lepper, Nolan, Standish, Weston, and Webster. Mr. Lepper was elected chairman for the ensuing year. The disqualification of Reynardcau for running at unregistered 'meetings was removed.
The programme of the North Tara- J naki Hunt Club was approved. An application from the Hunt C'tio for permission to issue emergency riders' certificates was granted. Gentlemen riders' certificates were granted to Messrs. A. (I ill'. F. Flynn, 11. George, 11. J. Matlliew*,' ,1. O'Uoiil ncll, A. J. O'Driscoll, and P. Sole:, trainers' licenses to Messrs. K. Barlow. 11. Eva, C. Jackson, It. lirougli, 11. Francis, J. I'ryor, A. Gilbert, J. F. Goddard, J. Goodwin, and E. Hendry: jockeys' licenses to R. Zarlow, J. Glarebut, C. Cochrane, 11. Copestak'e (apprentice), L. Danahay, E. Gilbert, and C. Jackson.
