After three misses, the men had to retire. Three tied in the. nineteenth- round, namely, Duncan Eraser, Jialfour, and Secombe. Secombe missed his tenth bird, both Eraser and Balfour killing. Balfour then missed his twen-ty-first bird, Eraser killing, and thero--I,'v a"iiin winning the New Zealand championship. Throughout the match Freer used his second barrel twice unlv Eraser pins his faith on colonial ammunition, which he u»ed throughout the meeting.
