Sir Frisco and Dawn were quickest away, and led to the turn, where Seaman ran up and Dawn "began to falter. Sir Frisco and Seaman drew right away from the field, and the former won by two lengths, the third horse being about six lengths away. Time, lniin 52sec. Winter Hurdles—Compass 1, Scotty 2, Snip 3. Also ran: Shrapnel, Eijmoor, Sen Sim, Ability, Loch Fyno, Whatakura,. and St. Amelia. Scotty, [ and Sen Sim led for a time, but on pass--9 ing the stand there was little to choose I between the field. Scotty and Compass r ran in front all along the back, but in : the straight Compass drew out, and won by three or four lengths. 4min 4 3-ssee. Trial Plate —Effort 1, Landwern 2, Passive 3.
