- By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchureh, Last Nigut. A blizzard on a small scale cauie up aoddenly from - the south-west this afternoon, bringing witji it hail and sleet. For some little time the wind blew wu. considerable force, and several panes of glass in verandahs were blown out. After a little time, the strength of the triad abated somewhat and rain set in with every prospect of continuing. In the early part of the day, the weather following oa a ha'rd frost at night was {exceedingly pleasant.
MORE SNOW IK OTAGO. ' ' ' Dunedin, Last Night. The weather i» still bitterly cold in Central Otago, and farther snow fell in several district* to-day. The water is receding very slowly in places on the Taieri Plains, and it ia likely to he some days yet before it is all away.
