SUFFRAGETTES IN GAOL.
HOW THEY ARE TREATED. QUESTIONS IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. Received lofli, 10.50 p.m. I London, July 15. Jn the Douse of Commons, .Mr. Herbert Gladstone (Minister for Home Affairs) informed Mr. W. U. McNeill that the suffragists are in the second division of the gaol, aud on the same diet as those in the first division. They I were in separate confinement for 22'/, hours out of every 24. Any suffragist could secure her release by giving security for good behaviour. He was un- I able to recommend the exercise of the prerogative of mercy. He added, in reply to-Mr. W. Redmond, that the .suffragettes were taking exercise, mid were kept apart from ordinary criminals.
