PREFERENCE TO BRITAIN.
DISCUSSION IN CANADA. Received lSth, 12.43 a.m. Ottawa, July 15. Several Conservatives in the Dominion House of Commons urged preference to Britain was useless. They askif it could be withdrawn, as a retaliation to Britain's embargo on Canadian cattle. Sir Feilding replied: "We could do so, but I think it would be unwise."
